The first lamb you must offer in the morning, and the second lamb you must offer in the late afternoon,

For their drink offerings, include half a hin of wine with each bull, one-third of a hin for the ram, and one-fourth of a hin for each lamb. This is the burnt offering for each month throughout the months of the year.

Then David prayed to God for the child and fasted. He would even go and spend the night lying on the ground.

At that time the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, called for weeping and mourning, for shaved heads and sackcloth.

So put on sackcloth! Mourn and wail, saying,‘The fierce anger of the LORD has not turned away from us!’”

They will wear sackcloth, terror will cover them; shame will be on all their faces, and all of their heads will be shaved bald.
