They insulted God, saying,“Is God really able to give us food in the wilderness?

and saying,“You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God’s Son, come down from the cross!”

The people also stood there watching, but the leaders ridiculed him, saying,“He saved others. Let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

Having said this, he spat on the ground and made some mud with the saliva. He smeared the mud on the blind man’s eyes

Now when Mary came to the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said to him,“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
