After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute began to speak. The crowds were amazed and said,“Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”
Woes on Unrepentant Cities Then Jesus began to criticize openly the cities in which he had done many of his miracles, because they did not repent.
And immediately the man stood up, took his stretcher, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed and glorified God, saying,“We have never seen anything like this!”
As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen:
came to Jesus at night and said to him,“Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs that you do unless God is with him.”
But I told you that you have seen me and still do not believe.
Never before has anyone heard of someone causing a man born blind to see.
If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.
So the chief priests planned to kill Lazarus too,
and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me.
“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous signs that God performed among you through him, just as you yourselves know–
slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents,
treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God.
Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world means hostility toward God? So whoever decides to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy.
