“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Keep your distance from a false charge– do not kill the innocent and the righteous, for I will not justify the wicked.

Also seat two villains opposite him and have them testify,‘You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”

You plot against your brother; you slander your own brother.

The one who conceals hatred utters lies, and the one who spreads slander is certainly a fool.

The one who goes about gossiping reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with someone who is always opening his mouth.

Everyone must be on his guard around his friends. He must not even trust any of his relatives. For every one of them will find some way to cheat him. And all of his friends will tell lies about him.

But they did not find anything, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward
