The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.

because it is God’s servant for your well-being. But be afraid if you do wrong because government does not bear the sword for nothing. It is God’s servant to administer punishment on the person who does wrong.

For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely,“You must love your neighbor as yourself.”

You must put away all bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and slanderous talk– indeed all malice.

For we know the one who said,“Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and again,“The Lord will judge his people.”

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
