“‘If you walk in hostility against me and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction seven times according to your sins.

“It did no good for me to punish your people. They did not respond to such correction. You slaughtered your prophets like a voracious lion.”

You mix uncleanness with obscene conduct. I tried to cleanse you, but you are not clean. You will not be cleansed from your uncleanness until I have exhausted my anger on you.

“But surely I gave you no food to eat in all your cities; you lacked food everywhere you live. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!
