(19:1) The king then became very upset. He went up to the upper room over the gate and wept. As he went he said,“My son, Absalom! My son, my son, Absalom! If only I could have died in your place! Absalom, my son, my son!”
“I will pour out on the kingship of David and the population of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication so that they will look to me, the one they have pierced. They will lament for him as one laments for an only son, and there will be a bitter cry for him like the bitter cry for a firstborn.
They came to the house of the synagogue leader where he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly.
When Jesus heard this, he said,“This sickness will not lead to death, but to God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
