While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John:“What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Which of the two did his father’s will?” They said,“The first.” Jesus said to them,“I tell you the truth, tax collectors and prostitutes will go ahead of you into the kingdom of God!

On the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,“Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Gazing at Jesus as he walked by, he said,“Look, the Lamb of God!”
