And it is not across the sea, as though one must say,“Who will cross over to the other side of the sea and get it for us and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

I grant your request, and give you a wise and discerning mind superior to that of anyone who has preceded or will succeed you.

God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment; the breadth of his understanding was as infinite as the sand on the seashore.

So the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he had promised him. And Hiram and Solomon were at peace and made a treaty.

Everyone in the world wanted to visit Solomon to see him display his God-given wisdom.

For this reason the Lord himself will give you a confirming sign. Look, this young woman is about to conceive and will give birth to a son. You, young woman, will name him Immanuel.

And a voice from heaven said,“This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory– the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father.

So he got up and went. There he met an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasury. He had come to Jerusalem to worship,

in these last days he has spoken to us in a son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.
