But we can’t allow our daughters to marry them, for the Israelites took an oath, saying,‘Whoever gives a woman to a Benjaminite will be destroyed!’

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

In reply all the people said,“Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

But he denied it:“I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” Then he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed.

But Peter said,“Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

Peter’s Restoration Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these do?” He replied,“Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“Feed my lambs.”

For I could wish that I myself were accursed– cut off from Christ– for the sake of my people, my fellow countrymen,

All those I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent!
