While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John:“What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

So John said to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him,“You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming to him and being baptized.
