David went out to meet them and said,“If you come to me in peace and want to help me, then I will make an alliance with you. But if you come to betray me to my enemies when I have not harmed you, may the God of our ancestors take notice and judge!”

I thought,‘You are gods; all of you are sons of the Most High.’

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May those who love her prosper!

So then, be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

In fact, they can no longer die, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection.

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

Exhortation to Mutual Forbearance Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions.

Instead, does a Christian sue a Christian, and do this before unbelievers?

Final Exhortations and Greetings Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice, set things right, be encouraged, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Live in Unity I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called,

Christian Unity and Christ’s Humility Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any affection or mercy,

I appeal to Euodia and to Syntyche to agree in the Lord.

But keep away from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and peace, in company with others who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Living Out the Message Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance,
