May those who rejoice in my troubles be totally embarrassed and ashamed! May those who arrogantly taunt me be covered with shame and humiliation!
My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone, as they say to me all day long,“Where is your God?”
Why should the nations say,“Where is their God?” Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants be avenged among the nations!
My accusers will be covered with shame, and draped in humiliation as if it were a robe.

Indeed, the LORD knocks down those who live in a high place, he brings down an elevated town; he brings it down to the ground, he throws it down to the dust.

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies says,“The people of Israel are oppressed. So too are the people of Judah. All those who took them captive are holding them prisoners. They refuse to set them free.
“But I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wicked things they did in Zion right before the eyes of you Judeans,” says the LORD.
They will wear sackcloth, terror will cover them; shame will be on all their faces, and all of their heads will be shaved bald.
Let the priests, those who serve the LORD, weep from the vestibule all the way back to the altar. Let them say,“Have pity, O LORD, on your people; please do not turn over your inheritance to be mocked, to become a proverb among the nations. Why should it be said among the peoples,“Where is their God?”
Many nations have now assembled against you. They say,“Jerusalem must be desecrated, so we can gloat over Zion!”
The LORD has removed the judgment against you; he has turned back your enemy. Israel’s king, the LORD, is in your midst! You no longer need to fear disaster.
Your eyes will see it, and then you will say,‘May the LORD be magnified even beyond the border of Israel!’”
He trusts in God– let God, if he wants to, deliver him now because he said,‘I am God’s Son’!”
