I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage– I have conquered the world.”

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me.

Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith!

You have not yet resisted to the point of bloodshed in your struggle against sin.
