¶ Book 1(Psalms 1-41) How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!

I stay away from every evil path, so that I might keep your instructions.

Do not enter the path of the wicked or walk in the way of those who are evil.

Do not turn to the right or to the left; turn yourself away from evil.

Abandon your foolish ways so that you may live, and proceed in the way of understanding.”

The one who lives uprightly and speaks honestly; the one who refuses to profit from oppressive measures and rejects a bribe; the one who does not plot violent crimes and does not seek to harm others–

Therefore“come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord,“and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,
