Back to passage

Though the LORD is exalted, he looks after the lowly, and humbles the proud from far away.

Whoever corrects a mocker is asking for insult; whoever reproves a wicked person receives abuse.

Penalties have been prepared for scorners, and floggings for the backs of fools.

For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever, whose name is holy:“I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
