Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of you, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods," which you have not known;

As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain base fellows, surrounded the house, beating at the door; and they spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may have sex with him!"

Now the sons of Eli were base men; they didn't know Yahweh.

Then all the wicked men and base fellows, of those who went with David, answered and said, "Because they didn't go with us, we will not give them anything of the spoil that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that he may lead them away, and depart."

David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.

But all of the ungodly shall be as thorns to be thrust away, because they can't be taken with the hand,

King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, "What counsel do you give me to return answer to this people?"

Arise, Yahweh, confront him. Cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword;

My son, fear Yahweh and the king. Don't join those who are rebellious:

As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife.
