The watchers saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said to him, "Please show us the entrance into the city, and we will deal kindly with you."

David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, "Blessed are you by Yahweh, that you have shown this kindness to your lord, even to Saul, and have buried him.

David said, "Is there yet any who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

Don't they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
