The Glorious Feast of the Annunciation
This day is the herald of the feasts because on it the good news of the world's salvation was announced, and through it salvation was accomplished by the glorious resurrection of Adam and his descendants from the hands of Satan. We ask our God and Savior to graciously forgive our sins and overlook our transgressions. Amen.
Commemoration of the Resurrection of Our Good Savior from the Dead
On this day, the church celebrates the commemoration of the perfection of salvation by the glorious resurrection. Our Lord, to whom be glory, after completing His dispensation on earth and during thirty-three years, suffered willingly. On the night of the twenty-seventh of this month, He rose from the dead on this very day, on which He had announced to the people of the world the incarnation of Christ, whom they awaited, and the day on which He announced to the living and the dead and confirmed salvation. It was on a Friday until it was fulfilled on Sunday for the living, and they were assured of their resurrection by the resurrection of Christ's body, who is their head, as the apostle says, 'Christ is the one who raised the dead.' We ask Him, for His great compassion and abundant mercy, to graciously forgive our sins. To Him be eternal glory forever. Amen.
