Month of Harvest & Resurrection Joy

9 April – 8 May 30 days 12 saint commemorations

Baramouda is the month of the ripened ear: barley beaten on the threshing floor while the days of Pascha and the Resurrection so often fall within it. Fasting gives way to the joy of the empty tomb, and the valley itself seems to keep the feast.
