TSK · Amos 8:4

And [Micaiah] said, Therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

[For the Chief Musician; set to Jonath elem rehokim. [A Psalm] of David. Michtam; when the Philistines took him in Gath]. Be merciful unto me, O God; For man would swallow me up: All the day long he fighting oppresseth me.

There is a generation whose teeth are [as] swords, and their jaw teeth [as] knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Wherefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scoffers, that rule this people that is in Jerusalem:

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; that have eyes, and see not; that have ears, and hear not:

In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbors by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah.

they that pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father go unto the [same] maiden, to profane my holy name:

Now therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not [thy word] against the house of Isaac;

And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their appearance in all the land

Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous [one] ; he doth not resist you.
