And all the people^H5971 went^H3212 to Gilgal;^H1537 and there they made Saul^H7586 king^H4427 before^H6440 Jehovah^H3068 in Gilgal;^H1537 and there they offered^H2076 sacrifices^H2077 of peace-offerings^H8002 before^H6440 Jehovah;^H3068 and there Saul^H7586 and all the men^H582 of Israel^H3478 rejoiced^H8055 greatly.^H3966

And Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto Samuel,^H8050 How long wilt thou mourn^H56 for Saul,^H7586 seeing I have rejected^H3988 him from being king^H4427 over Israel?^H3478 fill^H4390 thy horn^H7161 with oil,^H8081 and go:^H3212 I will send^H7971 thee to Jesse^H3448 the Beth-lehemite;^H1022 for I have provided^H7200 me a king^H4428 among his sons.^H1121

And he sent,^H7971 and brought him in.^H935 Now he was ruddy,^H132 and withal^H5973 of a beautiful^H3303 countenance,^H5869 and goodly^H2896 to^H7210 look upon. And Jehovah^H3068 said,^H559 Arise,^H6965 anoint^H4886 him; for this is he.

And they two^H8147 made^H3772 a covenant^H1285 before^H6440 Jehovah:^H3068 and David^H1732 abode^H3427 in the wood,^H2793 and Jonathan^H3083 went^H1980 to his house.^H1004

And the men^H582 of Judah^H3063 came,^H935 and there they anointed^H4886 David^H1732 king^H4428 over the house^H1004 of Judah.^H3063 And they told^H5046 David,^H1732 saying,^H559 The men^H582 of Jabesh-gilead^H3003 were they that buried^H6912 Saul.^H7586

And Jehoiada^H3077 made^H3772 a covenant^H1285 between Jehovah^H3068 and the king^H4428 and the people,^H5971 that they should be Jehovah's^H3068 people;^H5971 between the king^H4428 also and the people.^H5971

Now these are the chief^H7218 of the mighty men^H1368 whom David^H1732 had, who showed themselves strong^H2388 with him in his kingdom,^H4438 together with all Israel,^H3478 to make him king,^H4427 according to the word^H1697 of Jehovah^H3068 concerning Israel.^H3478
