And he said^H559 unto them, Thus saith^H559 Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of Israel,^H3478 Put^H7760 ye every man^H376 his sword^H2719 upon his thigh,^H3409 and go^H5674 to^H7725 and fro from gate^H8179 to gate^H8179 throughout the camp,^H4264 and slay^H2026 every man^H376 his brother,^H251 and every man^H376 his companion,^H7453 and every man^H376 his neighbor.^H7138

And I will destroy^H8045 your high places,^H1116 and cut down^H3772 your sun-images,^H2553 and cast^H5414 your dead bodies^H6297 upon the bodies^H6297 of your idols;^H1544 and my soul^H5315 shall abhor^H1602 you.

The graven images^H6456 of their gods^H430 shall ye burn^H8313 with fire:^H784 thou shalt not covet^H2530 the silver^H3701 or the gold^H2091 that is on them, nor take^H3947 it unto thee, lest thou be snared^H3369 therein; for it is an abomination^H8441 to Jehovah^H3068 thy God.^H430

If your brother,^H251 the son^H1121 of your mother,^H517 or your son,^H1121 or your daughter,^H1323 or the wife^H802 of your bosom,^H2436 or your friend,^H7453 that is as your own soul,^H5315 entice^H5496 you secretly,^H5643 saying,^H559 Let us go^H3212 and serve^H5647 other^H312 gods,^H430 which you have not known,^H3045 you, nor your fathers;^H1

Three^H7969 years^H8141 reigned^H4427 he in Jerusalem:^H3389 and his mother's^H517 name^H8034 was Maacah^H4601 the daughter^H1323 of Abishalom.^H53

And he brought out^H3318 the Asherah^H842 from the house^H1004 of Jehovah,^H3068 without^H2351 Jerusalem,^H3389 unto the brook^H5158 Kidron,^H6939 and burned^H8313 it at the brook^H5158 Kidron,^H6939 and beat^H1854 it to dust,^H6083 and cast^H7993 the dust^H6083 thereof upon the graves^H6913 of the common^H1121 people.^H5971

Moreover the altar^H4196 that was at Beth-el,^H1008 and the high place^H1116 which Jeroboam^H3379 the son^H1121 of Nebat,^H5028 who made Israel^H3478 to sin,^H2398 had made,^H6213 even that altar^H4196 and the high place^H1116 he brake down;^H5422 and he burned^H8313 the high place^H1116 and beat^H1854 it to dust,^H6083 and burned^H8313 the Asherah.^H842

And the priests^H3548 went^H935 in unto the inner part^H6441 of the house^H1004 of Jehovah,^H3068 to cleanse^H2891 it, and brought out^H3318 all the uncleanness^H2932 that they found^H4672 in the temple^H1964 of Jehovah^H3068 into the court^H2691 of the house^H1004 of Jehovah.^H3068 And the Levites^H3881 took^H6901 it, to carry it out^H3318 abroad^H2351 to the brook^H5158 Kidron.^H6939

And he brake down^H5422 the altars,^H4196 and beat^H3807 the Asherim^H842 and the graven images^H6456 into powder,^H1854 and hewed down^H1438 all the sun-images^H6456 throughout all the land^H776 of Israel,^H3478 and returned^H7725 to Jerusalem.^H3389

And^G2532 when^G191 his^G846 friends^G3844 heard^G191 it, they went out^G1831 to lay hold^G2902 on him:^G846 for^G1063 they said,^G3004 He is beside himself.^G3754

Wherefore^{G5620 G575} we^G2249 henceforth^G3568 know^G1492 no man^G3762 after^G2596 the flesh:^{G4561 G1161} even^G2532 though^G1487 we have known^G1097 Christ^G5547 after^G2596 the flesh,^G4561 yet^G235 now^G3568 we^G1097 know [him so] no more.^G3765
