And [Abraham] planted^H5193 a tamarisk^H815 tree in Beer-sheba,^H884 and called^H7121 there on the name^H8034 of Jehovah,^H3068 the Everlasting^H5769 God.^H410

And it came to pass in those days,^H3117 when there was no king^H4428 in Israel,^H3478 that there was a certain^H376 Levite^H3881 sojourning^H1481 on the farther side^H3411 of the hill-country^H2022 of Ephraim,^H669 who took^H3947 to him a concubine^H802 out of Beth-lehem-judah.^H1035

And Samuel^H8050 spake^H559 unto all the house^H1004 of Israel,^H3478 saying,^H559 If ye do return^H7725 unto Jehovah^H3068 with all your heart,^H3824 then put away^H5493 the foreign^H5236 gods^H430 and the Ashtaroth^H6252 from among^H8432 you, and direct^H3559 your hearts^H3824 unto Jehovah,^H3068 and serve^H5647 him only; and he will deliver^H5337 you out of the hand^H3027 of the Philistines.^H6430

And when Asa^H609 heard^H8085 these words,^H1697 and the prophecy^H5016 of Oded^H5752 the prophet,^H5030 he took courage,^H2388 and put away^H5674 the abominations^H8251 out of all the land^H776 of Judah^H3063 and Benjamin,^H1144 and out of the cities^H5892 which he had taken^H3920 from the hill-country^H2022 of Ephraim;^H669 and he renewed^H2318 the altar^H4196 of Jehovah,^H3068 that was before^H6440 the porch^H197 of Jehovah.^H3068

Now it is in my heart^H3824 to make^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of Israel,^H3478 that his fierce^H2740 anger^H639 may turn away^H7725 from us.

Straightway^G1161 he that received^G2983 the five^G4002 talents^G5007 went^G4198 and^G2532 traded^G2038 with^G1722 them, and^G2532 made^G4160 other^G243 five^G4002 talents.^G5007
