If the place^H4725 which Jehovah^H3068 thy God^H430 shall choose,^H977 to put^H7760 his name^H8034 there, be too far^H7368 from thee, then thou shalt kill^H2076 of thy herd^H1241 and of thy flock,^H6629 which Jehovah^H3068 hath given^H5414 thee, as I have commanded^H6680 thee; and thou mayest eat^H398 within thy gates,^H8179 after^H185 all the desire of thy soul.^H5315

Since the day^H3117 that I brought forth^H3318 my people^H5971 Israel^H3478 out of Egypt,^H4714 I chose^H977 no city^H5892 out of all the tribes^H7626 of Israel^H3478 to build^H1129 a house,^H1004 that my name^H8034 might be there; but I chose^H977 David^H1732 to be over my people^H5971 Israel.^H3478

If thy people^H5971 go out^H3318 to battle^H4421 against their enemy,^H341 by whatsoever^H1870 way thou shalt send^H7971 them, and they pray^H6419 unto Jehovah^H3068 toward^H1870 the city^H5892 which thou hast chosen,^H977 and toward the house^H1004 which I have built^H1129 for thy name;^H8034

And Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto him, I have heard^H8085 thy prayer^H8605 and thy supplication,^H8467 that thou hast made^H2603 before^H6440 me: I have hallowed^H6942 this house,^H1004 which thou hast built,^H1129 to put^H7760 my name^H8034 there for^H5704 ever;^H5769 and mine eyes^H5869 and my heart^H3820 shall be there perpetually.^H3117

And he set^H7760 the graven image^H6459 of Asherah,^H842 that he had made,^H6213 in the house^H1004 of which Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 to David^H1732 and to Solomon^H8010 his son,^H1121 In this house,^H1004 and in Jerusalem,^H3389 which I have chosen^H977 out of all the tribes^H7626 of Israel,^H3478 will I put^H7760 my name^H8034 for ever;^H5769

but I have chosen^H977 Jerusalem,^H3389 that my name^H8034 might be there; and have chosen^H977 David^H1732 to be over my people^H5971 Israel.^H3478

And Jehovah^H3068 appeared^H7200 to Solomon^H8010 by night,^H3915 and said^H559 unto him, I have heard^H8085 thy prayer,^H8605 and have chosen^H977 this place^H4725 to myself for a house^H1004 of sacrifice.^H2077

Now be ye not stiffnecked,^H7185 as your fathers^H1 were; but yield^H5414 yourselves^H3027 unto Jehovah,^H3068 and enter^H935 into his sanctuary,^H4720 which he hath sanctified^H6942 for ever,^H5769 and serve^H5647 Jehovah^H3068 your God,^H430 that his fierce^H2740 anger^H639 may turn away^H7725 from you.

And he set^H7760 the graven image^H6459 of the idol,^H5566 which he had made,^H6213 in the house^H1004 of God,^H430 of which God^H430 said^H559 to David^H1732 and to Solomon^H8010 his son,^H1121 In this house,^H1004 and in Jerusalem,^H3389 which I have chosen^H977 out of all the tribes^H7626 of Israel,^H3478 will I put^H7760 my name^H8034 for ever:^H5865

This is my resting-place^H4496 for ever:^H5703 Here will I dwell;^H3427 For I have desired^H183 it.
