Then the five^H2568 men^H582 departed,^H3212 and came^H935 to Laish,^H3919 and saw^H7200 the people^H5971 that were therein,^H7130 how they dwelt^H3427 in security,^H983 after the manner^H4941 of the Sidonians,^H6722 quiet^H8252 and secure;^H982 for there was none in the land,^H776 possessing authority,^H3423 that might put [them] to shame^H3637 in anything,^H1697 and they were far^H7350 from the Sidonians,^H6722 and had no dealings^H1697 with any man.^H120

For the backsliding^H4878 of the simple^H6612 shall slay^H2026 them, And the careless ease^H7962 of fools^H3684 shall destroy^H6 them.

The sinners^H2400 in Zion^H6726 are afraid;^H6342 trembling^H6342 hath seized^H270 the godless^H2611 ones: Who among us can dwell^H1481 with the devouring^H398 fire?^H784 who among us can dwell^H1481 with everlasting^H5769 burnings?^H4168

I will get^H3212 me unto the great men,^H1419 and will speak^H1696 unto them; for they know^H3045 the way^H1870 of Jehovah,^H3068 and the law^H4941 of their God.^H430 But these with one accord^H3162 have broken^H7665 the yoke,^H5923 and burst^H5423 the bonds.^H4147

Moab^H4124 hath been at ease^H7599 from his youth,^H5271 and he hath settled^H8252 on his lees,^H8105 and hath not been emptied^H7324 from vessel^H3627 to vessel,^H3627 neither hath he gone^H1980 into captivity:^H1473 therefore his taste^H2940 remaineth^H5975 in him, and his scent^H7381 is not changed.^H4171

How doth the city^H5892 sit^H3427 solitary,^H910 that was full^H7227 of people!^H5971 She is become as a widow,^H490 that was great^H7227 among the nations!^H1471 She that was a princess^H8282 among the provinces^H4082 is become tributary!^H4522

They that swear^H7650 by the sin^H819 of Samaria,^H8111 and say,^H559 As thy god,^H430 O Dan,^H1835 liveth;^H2416 and, As the way^H1870 of Beer-sheba^H884 liveth;^H2416 they shall fall,^H5307 and never rise up^H6965 again.
