And no plant^H7880 of the field^H7704 was yet^H2962 in the earth,^H776 and no herb^H6212 of the field^H7704 had yet^H2962 sprung up;^H6779 for^H3588 Jehovah^H3068 God^H430 had not^H3808 caused it to rain^H4305 upon the earth:^H776 and there was not^H369 a man^H120 to till^H5647 the ground;^H127

And Jehovah^H3068 God^H430 commanded^H6680 the man,^H120 saying,^H559 Of every tree^H6086 of the garden^H1588 thou mayest freely^H398 eat:^H398

And he shall be like a tree^H6086 planted^H8362 by the streams^H6388 of water,^H4325 That bringeth forth^H5414 its fruit^H6529 in its season,^H6256 Whose leaf^H5929 also doth not wither;^H5034 And whatsoever he doeth^H6213 shall prosper.^H6743

He causeth the grass^H2682 to grow^H6779 for the cattle,^H929 And herb^H6212 for the service^H5656 of man;^H120 That he may bring forth^H3318 food^H3899 out of the earth,^H776

For as the earth^H776 bringeth forth^H3318 its bud,^H6780 and as the garden^H1593 causeth the things that are sown^H2221 in it to spring forth;^H6779 so the Lord^H136 Jehovah^H3069 will cause righteousness^H6666 and praise^H8416 to spring forth^H6779 before all the nations.^H1471

And^G1161 even^G2532 now^G2235 the axe^G513 lieth^G2749 at^G4314 the root^G4491 of the trees:^G1186 every^G3956 tree^G1186 therefore^G3767 that bringeth^G4160 not^G3361 forth^G4160 good^G2570 fruit^G2590 is hewn down,^G1581 and^G2532 cast^G906 into^G1519 the fire.^G4442

By^G575 their^G846 fruits^G2590 ye shall know^G1921 them.^G846 Do^G3385 [men] gather^G4816 grapes^G4718 of^G575 thorns,^G173 or^G2228 figs^G4810 of^G575 thistles?^G5146

For^G1063 there is no^G3756 good^G2570 tree^G1186 that^G2076 bringeth^G4160 forth^G4160 corrupt^G4550 fruit;^G2590 nor^G3761 again a corrupt^G4550 tree^G1186 that^G4160 bringeth forth^G4160 good^G2570 fruit.^G2590

Can^G1410 a fig tree,^G4808 my^G3450 brethren,^G80 yield^G4160 olives,^G1636 or^G2228 a vine^G288 figs?^{G4810 G3779} Neither^G3762 [can] salt^G252 water^G5204 yield^G4160 sweet.^G1099
