And the angel^H4397 of Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto her, Behold,^H2009 thou art with child,^H2030 and shalt bear^H3205 a son;^H1121 and thou shalt call^H7121 his name^H8034 Ishmael,^H3458 because Jehovah^H3068 hath heard^H8085 thy affliction.^H6040

And it came to pass, while Israel^H3478 dwelt^H7931 in that land,^H776 that Reuben^H7205 went^H3212 and lay^H7901 with Bilhah^H1090 his father's^H1 concubine:^H6370 and Israel^H3478 heard^H8085 of it. Now the sons^H1121 of Jacob^H3290 were twelve:^H8147

And Reuben^H7205 heard^H8085 it, and delivered^H5337 him out of their hand,^H3027 and said,^H559 Let us not take his life.^H5221

And Reuben^H7205 answered^H6030 them, saying,^H559 Spake I^H559 not unto you, saying,^H559 Do not sin^H2398 against the child;^H3206 and ye would not hear?^H8085 therefore also, behold, his blood^H1818 is required.^H1875

And these are the names^H8034 of the children^H1121 of Israel,^H3478 who came^H935 into Egypt,^H4714 Jacob^H3290 and his sons:^H1121 Reuben,^H7205 Jacob's^H3290 first-born.^H1060

And Jehovah^H3068 said,^H559 I have surely^H7200 seen^H7200 the affliction^H6040 of my people^H5971 that are in Egypt,^H4714 and have heard^H8085 their cry^H6818 by reason^H6440 of their taskmasters;^H5065 for I know^H3045 their sorrows;^H4341

and we cried^H6817 unto Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of our fathers,^H1 and Jehovah^H3068 heard^H8085 our voice,^H6963 and saw^H7200 our affliction,^H6040 and our toil,^H5999 and our oppression;^H3906

And she vowed^H5087 a vow,^H5088 and said,^H559 O Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 if thou wilt indeed^H7200 look^H7200 on the affliction^H6040 of thy handmaid,^H519 and remember^H2142 me, and not forget^H7911 thy handmaid,^H519 but wilt give^H5414 unto thy handmaid^H519 a man-child,^{H582 H2233} then I will give^H5414 him unto Jehovah^H3068 all the days^H3117 of his life,^H2416 and there shall no razor^H4177 come^H5927 upon his head.^H7218

It may be that Jehovah^H3068 will look^H7200 on the wrong^H5869 done unto me, and that Jehovah^H3068 will requite^H7725 me good^H2896 for [his] cursing^H7045 of me this day.^H3117

Consider^H7200 mine affliction^H6040 and my travail;^H5999 And forgive^H5375 all my sins.^H2403

And by the border^H1366 of Ephraim,^H669 from the east^H6921 side^H6285 even unto the west^H3220 side,^H6285 Reuben,^H7205 one^H259 [portion].
