And unto Adam^H121 he said,^H559 Because thou hast hearkened^H8085 unto the voice^H6963 of thy wife,^H802 and hast eaten^H398 of the tree,^H6086 of which^H834 I commanded thee,^H6680 saying,^H559 Thou shalt not eat^H398 of it: cursed^H779 is the ground^H127 for thy sake; in toil^H6093 shalt thou eat^H398 of it all^H3605 the days^H3117 of thy life;^H2416

He that is born^H3211 in thy house,^H1004 and he that is bought^H4736 with thy money,^H3701 must needs^H4135 be circumcised:^H4135 and my covenant^H1285 shall be in your flesh^H1320 for an everlasting^H5769 covenant.^H1285

Ye shall therefore keep^H8104 all my statutes,^H2708 and all mine ordinances,^H4941 and do^H6213 them; that the land,^H776 whither I bring^H935 you to dwell^H3427 therein, vomit you not out.^H6958

So ye shall not pollute^H2610 the land^H776 wherein ye are: for blood,^H1818 it polluteth^H2610 the land;^H776 and no expiation^H3722 can be made for the land^H776 for the blood^H1818 that is shed^H8210 therein, but by the blood^H1818 of him that shed^H8210 it.

And he said,^H559 I will hide^H5641 my face^H6440 from them, I will see^H7200 what their end^H319 shall be: For they are a very perverse^H8419 generation,^H1755 Children^H1121 in whom is no faithfulness.^H529

So Joshua^H3091 made^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with the people^H5971 that day,^H3117 and set^H7760 them a statute^H2706 and an ordinance^H4941 in Shechem.^H7927

And it was so, because the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 had sinned^H2398 against Jehovah^H3068 their God,^H430 who brought them up^H5927 out of the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 from under the hand^H3027 of Pharaoh^H6547 king^H4428 of Egypt,^H4714 and had feared^H3372 other^H312 gods,^H430

because they have done^H6213 that which is evil^H7451 in my sight,^H5869 and have provoked^H4480 me to anger,^H3707 since the day^H3117 their fathers^H1 came forth^H3318 out of Egypt,^H4714 even unto this day.^H3117

Notwithstanding, Jehovah^H3068 turned^H7725 not from the fierceness^H2740 of his great^H1419 wrath,^H639 wherewith his anger^H639 was kindled^H2734 against Judah,^H3063 because of all the provocations^H3708 wherewith Manasseh^H4519 had provoked^H3707 him.

and I said,^H559 O my God,^H430 I am ashamed^H954 and blush^H3637 to lift up^H7311 my face^H6440 to you, my God;^H430 for our iniquities^H5771 are increased^H7235 over^H4605 our head,^H7218 and our guiltiness^H819 is grown up^H1431 unto the heavens.^H8064

And confirmed^H5975 the same unto Jacob^H3290 for a statute,^H2706 To Israel^H3478 for an everlasting^H5769 covenant,^H1285

Hear,^H8085 O heavens,^H8064 and give ear,^H238 O earth;^H776 for Jehovah^H3068 hath spoken:^H1696 I have nourished^H1431 and brought up^H7311 children,^H1121 and they have rebelled^H6586 against me.

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah,^H3068 Where is the bill^H5612 of your mother's^H517 divorcement,^H3748 wherewith I have put her away?^H7971 or which of my creditors^H5383 is it to whom I have sold^H4376 you? Behold, for your iniquities^H5771 were ye sold,^H4376 and for your transgressions^H6588 was your mother^H517 put away.^H7971

For our transgressions^H6588 are multiplied^H7231 before thee, and our sins^H2403 testify^H6030 against us; for our transgressions^H6588 are with us, and as for our iniquities,^H5771 we know^H3045 them:

They are turned back^H7725 to the iniquities^H5771 of their forefathers,^H7223 who refused^H3985 to hear^H8085 my words;^H1697 and they are gone^H1980 after^H310 other^H312 gods^H430 to serve^H5647 them: the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 and the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 have broken^H6565 my covenant^H1285 which I made^H3772 with their fathers.^H1

As for the beauty^H6643 of his ornament,^H5716 he set^H7760 it in majesty;^H1347 but they made^H6213 the images^H6754 of their abominations^H8441 [and] their detestable things^H8251 therein: therefore have I made^H5414 it unto them as an unclean^H5079 thing.

But the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 rebelled^H4784 against me in the wilderness:^H4057 they walked^H1980 not in my statutes,^H2708 and they rejected^H3988 mine ordinances,^H4941 which if a man^H120 keep,^H6213 he shall live^H2425 in them; and my sabbaths^H7676 they greatly^H3966 profaned.^H2490 Then I said^H559 I would pour out^H8210 my wrath^H2534 upon them in the wilderness,^H4057 to consume^H3615 them.

Son^H1121 of man,^H120 say^H559 unto her, Thou art a land^H776 that is not cleansed,^H2891 nor rained^H1656 upon in the day^H3117 of indignation.^H2195

And he shall speak^H4449 words^H4406 against^H6655 the Most High,^H5943 and shall wear out^H1080 the saints^H6922 of the Most High;^H5946 and he shall think^H5452 to change^H8133 the times^H2166 and the law;^H1882 and they shall be given^H3052 into his hand^H3028 until^H5705 a time^H5732 and times^H5732 and half^H6387 a time.^H5732

neither have we obeyed^H8085 the voice^H6963 of Jehovah^H3068 our God,^H430 to walk^H3212 in his laws,^H8451 which he set^H5414 before^H6440 us by^H3027 his servants^H5650 the prophets.^H5030

Arise^H6965 ye, and depart;^H3212 for this is not your resting-place;^H4496 because of uncleanness^H2930 that destroyeth,^H2254 even with a grievous^H4834 destruction.^H2254

And^G1161 they were^G2258 both^G297 righteous^G1342 before^G1799 God,^G2316 walking^G4198 in^G1722 all^G3956 the commandments^G1785 and^G2532 ordinances^G1345 of the Lord^G2962 blameless.^G273

Now^{G3767 G3303} even^G2532 a first^G4413 [covenant] had^G2192 ordinances^G1345 of divine service,^G2999 and^G5037 its sanctuary, [a sanctuary]^G39 of this world.^G2886
