And Abraham^H85 gave up the ghost,^H1478 and died^H4191 in a good^H2896 old age,^H7872 an old man,^H2205 and full^H7649 [of years], and was gathered^H622 to his people.^H5971

And when Jacob^H3290 made an end^H3615 of charging^H6680 his sons,^H1121 he gathered up^H622 his feet^H7272 into the bed,^H4296 and yielded up the ghost,^H1478 and was gathered^H622 unto his people.^H5971

Now there arose^H6965 a new^H2319 king^H4428 over Egypt,^H4714 who knew^H3045 not Joseph.^H3130

And when thou hast seen^H7200 it, thou also shalt be gathered^H622 unto thy people,^H5971 as Aaron^H175 thy brother^H251 was gathered;^H622

And Israel^H3478 served^H5647 Jehovah^H3068 all the days^H3117 of Joshua,^H3091 and all the days^H3117 of the elders^H2205 that outlived^H3117 Joshua,^H3091 and had known^H3045 all the work^H4639 of Jehovah,^H3068 that he had wrought^H6213 for Israel.^H3478

When thy days^H3117 are fulfilled,^H4390 and thou shalt sleep^H7901 with thy fathers,^H1 I will set up^H6965 thy seed^H2233 after^H310 thee, that shall proceed^H3318 out of thy bowels,^H4578 and I will establish^H3559 his kingdom.^H4467

And they say^H559 unto God,^H410 Depart^H5493 from us; For we desire^H2654 not the knowledge^H1847 of thy ways.^H1870

And the harp^H3658 and the lute,^H5035 the tabret^H8596 and the pipe,^H2485 and wine,^H3196 are [in] their feasts;^H4960 but they regard^H5027 not the work^H6467 of Jehovah,^H3068 neither have they considered^H7200 the operation^H4639 of his hands.^H3027

And they bend^H1869 their tongue,^H3956 [as it were] their bow,^H7198 for falsehood;^H8267 and they are grown strong^H1396 in the land,^H776 but not for truth:^H530 for they proceed^H3318 from evil^H7451 to evil,^H7451 and they know^H3045 not me, saith^H5002 Jehovah.^H3068

He judged^H1777 the cause^H1779 of the poor^H6041 and needy;^H34 then it was well.^H2896 Was not this to know^H1847 me? saith^H5002 Jehovah.^H3068

Afterward^G5305 the^G3956 woman^G1135 also^G2532 died.^G599

Howbeit^G235 at that time,^G1492 not^G3756 knowing God,^G2316 ye were in bondage^G1398 to them that^G3588 by nature^G5449 are^G5607 no^G3361 gods:^G2316

They profess^G3670 that they know^G1492 God;^G2316 but^G1161 by their works^G2041 they deny^G720 him, being^G5607 abominable,^G947 and^G2532 disobedient,^G545 and^G2532 unto^G4314 every^G3956 good^G18 work^G2041 reprobate.^G96
