When thou shalt beget^H3205 children,^H1121 and children's^H1121 children,^H1121 and ye shall have been long^H3462 in the land,^H776 and shall corrupt^H7843 yourselves, and make^H6213 a graven image^H6459 in the form^H8544 of anything, and shall do^H6213 that which is evil^H7451 in the sight^H5869 of Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 to provoke him to anger;^H3707

Thou shalt beget^H3205 sons^H1121 and daughters,^H1323 but they shall not be thine; for they shall go^H3212 into captivity.^H7628

He shall lend^H3867 to thee, and thou shalt not lend^H3867 to him: he shall be the head,^H7218 and thou shalt be the tail.^H2180

And Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto Moses,^H4872 Behold, thou shalt sleep^H7901 with thy fathers;^H1 and this people^H5971 will rise up,^H6965 and play the harlot^H2181 after^H310 the strange^H5236 gods^H430 of the land,^H776 whither they go^H935 to be among^H7130 them, and will forsake^H5800 me, and break^H6565 my covenant^H1285 which I have made^H3772 with them.

But Jeshurun^H3484 waxed fat,^H8080 and kicked:^H1163 Thou art waxed fat,^H8080 thou art grown thick,^H5666 thou art become sleek;^H3780 Then he forsook^H5203 God^H433 who made^H6213 him, And lightly esteemed^H5034 the Rock^H6697 of his salvation.^H3444

Moreover all the chiefs^H8269 of the priests,^H3548 and the people,^H5971 trespassed^H4603 very^H4604 greatly^H7235 after all the abominations^H8441 of the nations;^H1471 and they polluted^H2930 the house^H1004 of Jehovah^H3068 which he had hallowed^H6942 in Jerusalem.^H3389

Thou makest^H7760 us a strife^H4066 unto our neighbors;^H7934 And our enemies^H341 laugh^H3932 among themselves.

For we are consumed^H3615 in thine anger,^H639 And in thy wrath^H2534 are we troubled.^H926

O Jehovah,^H3068 do not thine eyes^H5869 look upon truth?^H530 thou hast stricken^H5221 them, but they were not grieved;^H2342 thou hast consumed^H3615 them, but they have refused^H3985 to receive^H3947 correction:^H4148 they have made their faces^H6440 harder^H2388 than a rock;^H5553 they have refused^H3985 to return.^H7725

I have forsaken^H5800 my house,^H1004 I have cast^H5203 off my heritage;^H5159 I have given^H5414 the dearly beloved^H3033 of my soul^H5315 into the hand^H3709 of her enemies.^H341

All thy lovers^H157 have forgotten^H7911 thee; they seek^H1875 thee not: for I have wounded^H5221 thee with the wound^H4347 of an enemy,^H341 with the chastisement^H4148 of a cruel one,^H394 for the greatness^H7230 of thine iniquity,^H5771 because thy sins^H2403 were increased.^H6105

The incense^H7002 that ye burned^H6999 in the cities^H5892 of Judah,^H3063 and in the streets^H2351 of Jerusalem,^H3389 ye and your fathers,^H1 your kings^H4428 and your princes,^H8269 and the people^H5971 of the land,^H776 did not Jehovah^H3068 remember^H2142 them, and came^H5927 it not into his mind?^H3820

This is the people^H5971 whom Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 carried away captive:^H1540 in the seventh^H7651 year^H8141 three^H7969 thousand^H505 Jews^H3064 and three^H7969 and twenty;^H6242

Jehovah^H3068 is righteous;^H6662 for I have rebelled^H4784 against his commandment:^H6310 Hear,^H8085 I pray you, all ye peoples,^H5971 and behold^H7200 my sorrow:^H4341 My virgins^H1330 and my young men^H970 are gone^H1980 into captivity.^H7628

Wherefore doth a living^H2416 man^H120 complain,^H596 a man^H1397 for the punishment of his sins?^H2399

Then he said^H559 unto me, Hast thou seen^H7200 [this], O son^H1121 of man?^H120 Is it a light thing^H7043 to the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 that they commit^H6213 the abominations^H8441 which they commit^H6213 here? for they have filled^H4390 the land^H776 with violence,^H2555 and have turned^H7725 again to provoke me to anger:^H3707 and, lo, they put^H7971 the branch^H2156 to their nose.^H639

Son^H1121 of man,^H120 say^H559 unto her, Thou art a land^H776 that is not cleansed,^H2891 nor rained^H1656 upon in the day^H3117 of indignation.^H2195

Therefore hath Jehovah^H3068 watched^H8245 over the evil,^H7451 and brought^H935 it upon us; for Jehovah^H3068 our God^H430 is righteous^H6662 in all his works^H4639 which he doeth,^H6213 and we have not obeyed^H8085 his voice.^H6963

Rejoice^H8055 not against me, O mine enemy:^H341 when I fall,^H5307 I shall arise;^H6965 when I sit^H3427 in darkness,^H2822 Jehovah^H3068 will be a light^H216 unto me.
