Now in the fourteenth^H702 year^H8141 of king^H4428 Hezekiah^H2396 did Sennacherib^H5576 king^H4428 of Assyria^H804 come up^H5927 against all the fortified^H1219 cities^H5892 of Judah,^H3063 and took^H8610 them.

Why will ye be still stricken,^H5221 that ye revolt^H5627 more and more?^H3254 the whole head^H7218 is sick,^H2483 and the whole heart^H3824 faint.^H2483

now therefore, behold, the Lord^H136 bringeth up^H5927 upon them the waters^H4325 of the River,^H5104 strong^H6099 and many,^H7227 [even] the king^H4428 of Assyria^H804 and all his glory:^H3519 and it shall come up^H5927 over all its channels,^H650 and go over^H1980 all its banks;^H1415

This very day^H3117 shall he halt^H5975 at Nob:^H5011 he shaketh^H5130 his hand^H3027 at the mount^H2022 of the daughter^H1323 of Zion,^H6726 the hill^H1389 of Jerusalem.^H3389

And the king^H4428 of Assyria^H804 sent^H7971 Rabshakeh^H7262 from Lachish^H3923 to Jerusalem^H3389 unto king^H4428 Hezekiah^H2396 with a great^H3515 army.^H2426 And he stood^H5975 by the conduit^H8585 of the upper^H5945 pool^H1295 in the highway^H4546 of the fuller's^H3526 field.^H7704

Why is my pain^H3511 perpetual,^H5331 and my wound^H4347 incurable,^H605 which refuseth^H3985 to be healed?^H7495 wilt thou indeed be unto me as a deceitful^H391 [brook], as waters^H4325 that fail?^H539

For thus saith^H559 Jehovah,^H3068 Thy hurt^H7667 is incurable,^H605 and thy wound^H4347 grievous.^H2470

For the inhabitant^H3427 of Maroth^H4796 waiteth anxiously^H2342 for good,^H2896 because evil^H7451 is come down^H3381 from Jehovah^H3068 unto the gate^H8179 of Jerusalem.^H3389
