And though this house^H1004 is so high,^H5945 yet shall every one that passeth^H5674 by it be astonished,^H8074 and shall hiss;^H8319 and they shall say,^H559 Why hath Jehovah^H3068 done^H6213 thus unto this land,^H776 and to this house?^H1004

for it was so, when Jezebel^H348 cut off^H3772 the prophets^H5030 of Jehovah,^H3068 that Obadiah^H5662 took^H3947 a hundred^H3967 prophets,^H5030 and hid^H2244 them by fifty^H376 in a cave,^H4631 and fed^H3557 them with bread^H3899 and water.)^H4325

But he walked^H3212 in the way^H1870 of the kings^H4428 of Israel,^H3478 yea, and made his son^H1121 to pass through^H5674 the fire,^H784 according to the abominations^H8441 of the nations,^H1471 whom Jehovah^H3068 cast out^H3423 from before^H6440 the children^H1121 of Israel.^H3478

And he did^H6213 that which was evil^H7451 in the sight^H5869 of Jehovah,^H3068 as did the house^H1004 of Ahab;^H256 for they were his counsellors^H3289 after^H310 the death^H4194 of his father,^H1 to his destruction.^H4889

Because they have forsaken^H5800 me, and have burned incense^H6999 unto other^H312 gods,^H430 that they might provoke me to anger^H3707 with all the works^H4639 of their hands;^H3027 therefore is my wrath^H2534 poured out^H5413 upon this place,^H4725 and it shall not be quenched.^H3518

Thou makest^H7760 us a reproach^H2781 to our neighbors,^H7934 A scoffing^H3933 and a derision^H7047 to them that are round about^H5439 us.

For they that lead^H833 this people^H5971 cause them to err;^H8582 and they that are led^H833 of them are destroyed.^H1104

But they hearkened^H8085 not, nor inclined^H5186 their ear,^H241 but walked^H3212 in [their own] counsels^H4156 [and] in the stubbornness^H8307 of their evil^H7451 heart,^H3820 and went backward,^H268 and not forward.^H6440

And I will make^H7760 this city^H5892 an astonishment,^H8047 and a hissing;^H8322 every one that passeth^H5674 thereby shall be astonished^H8074 and hiss^H8319 because of all the plagues^H4347 thereof.

behold, I will send^H7971 and take^H3947 all the families^H4940 of the north,^H6828 saith^H5002 Jehovah,^H3068 and [I will send] unto Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 the king^H4428 of Babylon,^H894 my servant,^H5650 and will bring^H935 them against this land,^H776 and against the inhabitants^H3427 thereof, and against all these nations^H1471 round about;^H5439 and I will utterly destroy^H2763 them, and make^H7760 them an astonishment,^H8047 and a hissing,^H8322 and perpetual^H5769 desolations.^H2723

Remember,^H2142 O Jehovah,^H3068 what is come upon us: Behold,^H7200 and see^H7200 our reproach.^H2781

And they shall bear^H5375 their shame,^H3639 and all their trespasses^H4604 whereby they have trespassed^H4603 against me, when they shall dwell^H3427 securely^H983 in their land,^H127 and none shall make them afraid;^H2729

Ephraim^H669 is oppressed,^H6231 he is crushed^H7533 in judgment;^H4941 because he was content^H2974 to walk^H1980 after^H310 [man's] command.^H6673
