And Moses^H4872 said^H559 unto the judges^H8199 of Israel,^H3478 Slay^H2026 ye every^H376 one^H376 his men^H582 that have joined^H6775 themselves unto Baal-peor.^H1187

Your eyes^H5869 have seen^H7200 what Jehovah^H3068 did^H6213 because of Baal-peor;^H1187 for all the men^H376 that followed^H310 Baal-peor,^H1187 Jehovah^H3068 thy God^H430 hath destroyed^H8045 them from the midst^H7130 of thee.

And the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 did^H6213 that which was evil^H7451 in the sight^H5869 of Jehovah,^H3068 and served^H5647 the Baalim;^H1168

And the anger^H639 of Jehovah^H3068 was kindled^H2734 against Israel,^H3478 and he delivered^H5414 them into the hands^H3027 of spoilers^H8154 that despoiled^H8155 them; and he sold^H4376 them into the hands^H3027 of their enemies^H341 round about,^H5439 so that they could^H3201 not any longer^H5750 stand^H5975 before^H6440 their enemies.^H341

Who knoweth^H3045 the power^H5797 of thine anger,^H639 And thy wrath^H5678 according to the fear^H3374 that is due unto thee?

Thus they provoked him to anger^H3707 with their doings;^H4611 And the plague^H4046 brake in^H6555 upon them.

I will not punish^H6485 your daughters^H1323 when they play the harlot,^H2181 nor your brides^H3618 when they commit adultery;^H5003 for [the men] themselves go apart^H6504 with harlots,^H2181 and they sacrifice^H2076 with the prostitutes;^H6948 and the people^H5971 that doth not understand^H995 shall be overthrown.^H3832
