He that begetteth^H3205 a fool^H3684 [doeth it] to his sorrow;^H8424 And the father^H1 of a fool^H5036 hath no joy.^H8055

A foolish^H3684 son^H1121 is the calamity^H1942 of his father;^H1 And the contentions^H4079 of a wife^H802 are a continual^H2956 dropping.^H1812

The father^H1 of the righteous^H6662 will greatly^H1524 rejoice;^H1523 And he that begetteth^H3205 a wise^H2450 child will have joy^H8055 of him.

These also are proverbs^H4912 of Solomon,^H8010 which the men^H582 of Hezekiah^H2396 king^H4428 of Judah^H3063 copied out.^H6275

The rod^H7626 and reproof^H8433 give^H5414 wisdom;^H2451 But a child^H5288 left^H7971 to himself causeth shame^H954 to his mother.^H517
