But who hath geuen credence vnto our preaching? or to whom is the arme of the Lorde knowen?

The disciple is not aboue the maister, nor the seruaunt aboue his lorde.

And Simeon blessed them, & saide vnto Marie his mother: beholde, this chylde is set to be the fall & vprysyng agayne of many in Israel, & for a signe which is spoken agaynst.

And therefore the Iewes dyd persecute Iesus, and sought the meanes to slea hym, because he hadde done these thynges on the Sabboth day.

Ueryly veryly I saye vnto you, yf a man kepe my saying, he shall neuer see death.

Then the Iewes agayne toke vp stones, to stone hym withall.

Ueryly, veryly, I say vnto you: The seruaunt is not greater the his maister, neither the messenger greater then he that sent hym.

Which of the prophetes haue not your fathers persecuted? And they haue slayne them which shewed before of the commyng of that iuste, of whom ye are nowe the betrayers and murtherers:

We suffer persecution, but are not forsaken therin. We are cast downe, but we perisshe not.

Yea, and all that wyll lyue godly in Christe Iesus, shall suffer persecution.
