They abhorre me and flee farre from me, and stayne my face with spittle.

He smote Ieremie, and put hym in the prison that is in the hye gate of Beniamin towardes the house of the Lorde.

Then dyd they spyt in his face, and buffeted hym with fistes. And other smote hym on his face with the paulme of their handes,

And the men that helde Iesus, mocked hym, and smote hym.

And sayde, Hayle king of the Iewes: And they stroke hym with roddes.
