And Elias ye Thesbite, which was of the inhabiters of Gilead, sayde vnto Ahab: As the Lorde God of Israel lyueth, before whom I stande, there shalbe neither deawe nor rayne these yeres, but according to my worde.
For thus saith ye Lord: My thoughtes are not your thoughtes, & your wayes are not my wayes.
The woman was a Greke, out of the nation of Syrophenissa: & she besought hym, that he woulde cast out the deuyll from her daughter.
For he sayth to Moyses: I wyll shewe mercy to whom I shewe mercy: And wyll haue compassion, on whom I haue compassion.
And hath opened vnto vs the misterie of his wyll, accordyng to his good pleasure which he had purposed in himselfe.
Elias was a man vnder infirmities euen as we are, and he prayed in his prayer that it myght not rayne: and it rayned not on the earth by the space of three yeres and sixe monethes.
