I wishe that the ryghteous woulde smite me and reproue me: for it is louing kyndnesse. But let not pretious baulmes breake mine head: for as yet euen my prayer is agaynst their wickednesse.
A wise sonne wil hearken to his fathers warnyng: but he that is scorneful wil not heare when he is reproued.
If thou smytest a scornefull person, the ignoraunt shall take better heede: and if thou reprouest one that hath vnderstanding, he wyll be the wyser.
A stubbourne seruaunt wyll not be the better for wordes: for though he vnderstande, yet will he not regarde them.
