But I am a worme, and not a man: a shame of men, and the contempt of the people.

He is despised and reiected of men: he is a man full of sorowes and hath experience of infirmities: we hidde as it were our faces from him: he was despised and we esteemed him not.

Then the souldiers led him away into the hall, which is the common hall, and called together the whole band,

Then came Iesus foorth wearing a crowne of thornes, and a purple garment; Pilate said vnto them, Beholde the man.
