And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
Moreover he said, I [am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
¶ Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and [seen] that which is done to you in Egypt:
¶ And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
And the head of Ephraim [is] Samaria, and the head of Samaria [is] Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
‹But I have greater witness than› [that] ‹of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.›
‹And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said› [it], ‹that they may believe that thou hast sent me.›
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
