¶ For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, ‹O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou› [wilt].
And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, ‹Take this, and divide› [it] ‹among yourselves:›
‹I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.›
¶ ‹Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.›
¶ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
