And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy [it] for ten's sake.
¶ Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
¶ But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
¶ And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
In whose hand [is] the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Behold, I [am] the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
