¶ And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, [said she], hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him [shall] the gathering of the people [be].

And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.

But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.

And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, [and] brought gifts.

¶ Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom [is] a right sceptre.

He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¶ Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded [and] taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
