¶ Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.

And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.

Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

¶ The fear of a king [is] as the roaring of a lion: [whoso] provoketh him to anger sinneth [against] his own soul.

Ephraim [is] oppressed [and] broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
