¶ [A Psalm] of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
Say ye not, A confederacy, to all [them to] whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make [them] afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken [it].
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
‹When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)›
‹But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end› [is] ‹not by and by.›
