Obed was the father of Jesse, and Jesse was the father of David.

He did not seek the LORD’s guidance, so the LORD killed him and transferred the kingdom to David son of Jesse.

Israel is Reclaimed and Reunited At that time a root from Jesse will stand like a signal flag for the nations. Nations will look to him for guidance, and his residence will be majestic.

the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Sala, the son of Nahshon,

And again Isaiah says,“The root of Jesse will come, and the one who rises to rule over the Gentiles, in him will the Gentiles hope.”
