Gad will be raided by marauding bands, but he will attack them at their heels.

There has not been a day like it before or since. The LORD obeyed a man, for the LORD fought for Israel!

One of you makes a thousand run away, for the LORD your God fights for you as he promised you he would.

Then Saul sent the messengers back to see David, saying,“Bring him up to me on his bed so I can kill him.”

When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said,“He must be the king of Israel.” So they turned and attacked him, but Jehoshaphat cried out.

Now Jeroboam had sent some men to ambush the Judahite army from behind. The main army was in front of the Judahite army; the ambushers were behind it.

That day the Israelites were defeated; the men of Judah prevailed because they relied on the LORD God of their ancestors.

When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said,“He must be the king of Israel!” So they turned and attacked him, but Jehoshaphat cried out. The LORD helped him; God lured them away from him.

God helped him in his campaigns against the Philistines, the Arabs living in Gur Baal, and the Meunites.

So we fasted and prayed to our God about this, and he answered us.

Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the LORD our God.

To you they cried out, and they were saved; in you they trusted and they were not disappointed.

For the music director; by the Korahites; according to the alamoth style; a song. God is our strong refuge; he is truly our helper in times of trouble.

How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me.

The LORD is good– indeed, he is a fortress in time of distress, and he protects those who seek refuge in him.
