Rehoboam’s Reign Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem; he built up these fortified cities throughout Judah:

Abijah chased Jeroboam; he seized from him these cities: Bethel and its surrounding towns, Jeshanah and its surrounding towns, and Ephron and its surrounding towns.

These were the ones who served the king, besides those whom the king placed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.
