But the angel of the LORD said to Balaam,“Go with the men, but you may only speak the word that I will speak to you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

But Balaam replied to Balak,“Did I not tell you,‘All that the LORD speaks, I must do’?”

But Micaiah said,“As certainly as the LORD lives, I will say what the LORD tells me to say.”

The prophet Jeremiah answered them,“Agreed! I will indeed pray to the LORD your God as you have asked. I will tell you everything the LORD replies in response to you. I will not keep anything back from you.”

‘Don’t preach with such impassioned rhetoric,’ they say excitedly.‘These prophets should not preach of such things; we will not be overtaken by humiliation.’

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread,

Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ!
